Save the Children Responding to Natural Disasters
Save the Children is responding to natural disasters that have struck families and children in Myanmar and China. Save the Children staff are hard at work in cyclone stricken areas of Yangon and the Irrawaddy Delta of Myanmar and have provided relief to over 225,000 people. Children make up nearly half of the survivors, and accounted for some 40% of the deaths. In China, in an effort to restore a sense of normalcy among the youngest survivors, Save the Children is providing tents, tables, chairs and other school supplies to damaged schools.
