Dear friend,

Struck by four severe storms in the past three weeks, Haiti has been devastated by extreme floods. Of the over 600,000 people affected by the disaster, 80,000 are believed to be children.

Children are extremely vulnerable during an emergency. Girls and boys in Haiti face immediate and grave threats to their health and well-being, as food, clean water and shelter are in desperately short supply.

With your help, Save the Children will work to meet children’s urgent needs. In Haiti, we are on the ground responding, by providing clean and safe drinking water, emergency food rations and shelter to families in need. With so many children affected, we need your help to reach children in some of the worst-hit communities.

Save the Children is also creating “child-friendly” spaces in shelters, which provide a safe protective environment for children waiting for the floodwaters to recede.

Your donation will help us expand and maintain these efforts. In the weeks to come, your support will also help Save the Children work to re-open damaged schools and start other crucial recovery programs for children and their families.

Please make as generous a gift as you can and visit our website regularly for photos and updates on how your support is saving children's lives in Haiti.

On behalf of the children,
