10,000 people marched in protest against UK child poverty

How do you get the government to keep a promise?

The 2009 Budget is crucial if the government is to hit the halfway target on child poverty by 2010. Everyone is starting to feel the effects of the recession but can you imagine what it must be like for children in low income families that were already struggling before the economic downturn?

Now more than ever we need to make sure that children in poverty in the UK are not forgotten. Please help keep up the pressure on the government and ensure they keep the promise to children in the UK. Get involved today:

*Send one of four poverty e-cards directly to Mr Darling.
*Join our cause on Facebook and invite all your friends.
*Visit your local Save the Children shop and fill out one of the postcards against child poverty.

Happy Birthday Gordon Brown

On 10 February, four youth campaigners delivered a giant birthday card to No.10 Downing Street representing the 14,000 fifth birthday cards we have collected from our supporters. The cards had personal messages from our campaigners demanding that Gordon Brown helps to stop millions of children dying before their fifth birthday.

Bulgari Rings sales soar

The success of Save the Children's partnership with Bulgari is evident from the number of rings that Bulgari stores have been able to sell in the first few days. The launch in Hong Kong attracted significant PR interest and all rings were sold in the first 48 hours. In Japan, UK and Germany sales of rings have also been high. In the UK, rings cost £200 with a donation of £40 supporting Rewrite the Future.

We are the world's independent children's charity. We're outraged that millions of children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection. We're working flat out to get every child their rights and we're determined to make further, faster changes. How many? How fast? It's up to you.
