Make Your Mark on the Day of the African ChildToday, 16 June, should be a day of celebration for millions of children who live on the African continent. But 4.5 million children are still dying there every year before their fifth birthday. They're dying because they don't have the basics they need for a decent start in life - good food, healthcare, clean water. There's still a lot of campaigning to do. |
Campaigners in Africa are kick-starting our push for change TODAY!
People across Africa are coming together today to pressure local, national and global leaders. To tell them that enough is enough, not another child should die because they can't afford or access healthcare, drink clean water or eat nutritious food.

Tell the G8 not to do things by halves
Eight of the richest world governments are meeting early next month in Italy to decide how to spend some of their money. We don't think there's much thinking to do. 9.2 million preventable child deaths is a fact. One that warrants serious and immediate action, not threats from Italy to cut its aid budget by half.
Help make the Day of the African Child a real cause for celebration. Tell Gordon Brown and other leaders of the G8 nations to do everything they can to save children's lives. Make your Mark.
