Wengi wetu tunajiona sisi tunajua kuliko wengine.

Mara nyingi tunawaona watu tofauti wakijiweka katika makundi tofauti

Leo wanasayansi wanafanya utafiti kujua muda ulianza vipi?

Imechukua takribani miaka tisa mpaka kifike uko.

Stellar Exodus in Action

Using NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, astronomers have captured for the first time snapshots of fledging white dwarf stars beginning their slow-paced, 40-million-year migration from the crowded center of an ancient star cluster to the less populated suburbs.

White dwarfs are the burned-out relics of stars that rapidly lose mass, cool down and shut off their nuclear furnaces.

As these glowing carcasses age and shed weight, their orbits begin to expand outward from the star cluster’s packed downtown. This migration is caused by a gravitational tussle among stars inside the cluster.

Globular star clusters sort out stars according to their mass, governed by a gravitational billiard ball game where lower mass stars rob momentum from more massive stars.

The result is that heavier stars slow down and sink to the cluster's core, while lighter stars pick up speed and move across the cluster to the edge.
This process is known as "mass segregation." Until these Hubble observations, astronomers had never definitively seen the dynamical conveyor belt in action.

Astronomers used Hubble to watch the white-dwarf exodus in the globular star cluster 47 Tucanae, a dense swarm of hundreds of thousands of stars in our Milky Way galaxy.

The cluster resides 16,700 light-years away in the southern constellation Tucana.

VOLCANO erupts on island Reunion

A volcano has erupted on the island where suspected MH370 wreckage was found, sparking fears it could hamper the investigation.

The government of La Reunion imposed a ban on access to the Piton de la Fournaise volcano, including by helicopter, after an eruption at 10am local time this morning.

It is not clear how severe the eruption was, but it could make it impossible to carry out air searches for more debris in the hunt for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

Piton de la Fournaise has erupted twice this year, with the effects lasting for some days on each occasion.

To add to the island's misfortune, it has also emerged that there have been 18 shark attacks - seven of them fatal - in the last four years.

Second plane part' found on Reunion

The object, believed to be the door of an aircraft, was discovered just south of the city of St Denis. It is said to have foreign writing on it and possibly some illustration.

The Malaysia Airlines plane from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing disappeared last March with 239 people on board.

The first piece of wreckage has gone to France, where investigators in the city of Toulouse will seek to establish if it came from MH370. It is believed to be a wing flap from a Boeing 777 - the same type of aircraft as the one that vanished. Investigators will begin work this Wednesday.

A Supercomputer

A supercomputer is a computer with a high-level computational capacity. Performance of a supercomputer is measured in floating point operations per second (FLOPS). As of 2015, there are supercomputers which can perform up to quadrillions of FLOPS. Supercomputer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org › wiki › Super...

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Obama's clean energy plan expected to boost renewables

After a year of consultations and over 4 million public comments, President Obama's Clean Power Plan will be finalised early next week.

The strategy will outline restrictions on CO2 from electricity that individual states will have to implement.

To give reluctant states more time to comply, the starting date is expected to be delayed by 2 years.

It's likely that new supports for renewable energy will also be announced. In June last year the US Environment Protection Agency (EPA) first put forward its proposals for restrictions on power plants.

The EPA said that emissions from electricity generation need to be reduced by 30% of the 2005 level by 2030.

At that time the EPA said that individual states need to get their plans in place by 2016 and they were to become operational by 2020.

But after consultations with industry, states and 4.3 million comments from the public, the EPA is likely to extend the deadline for the start of carbon cutting until 2022.

But while some have seen the delay as a weakening of Obama's climate commitment, the White House Chief of Staff hinted that the new rules would actually make a bigger overall impact on emissions.

"There really is no overstating how big this year is for climate change," said Denis McDonough, speaking at a Washington forum earlier this week.

"We will finalise a stronger rule." The thinking appears to be that a shorter deadline makes it more likely that states will switch from coal to natural gas, as they have been doing in recent years.

BLUE MOON

In honor of tonight's 'Blue Moon,'  astronaut Scott Kelly aboard the International Space Station posted this image and wrote, "TGIF Here's a preview of tonight's rare celestial surprise. #BlueMoon on the rise. #YearInSpace."

'Once in a Blue Moon' typically means rare or absurd. This year, it means tonight! According to modern folklore, the second full moon in a month is a "Blue Moon." But of course that doesn't mean it's necessarily blue. Step outside at sunset, look east and see what color presents itself.

DESINING SPACE MISSION TO ENRICH QUANTUM PHYSICS RESEARCH AT ALPBACH SUMMER SCHOOL

Sixty European science and engineering students from 19 of ESA’s 22 Member States recently attended the 2015 Alpbach Summer School, held in the beautiful Austrian Tyrol. This year’s meeting, held from 14 to 23 July, focused on quantum and fundamental physics in space.

During their stay at Alpbach students attended lectures and participated in workshops. They were divided into four teams and asked to design their own innovative mission to study how satellite missions could help develop and enrich quantum physics research, and see how future satellite missions could benefit from quantum physics in general.

The space missions designed by the students looked at how to make discoveries in gravitational wave astrophysics, as well as how to verify the fundamental principle of equivalence in Einstein’s theory of General Relativity. On the last day of this 10-day learning experience, each team presented their mission design to an expert review panel chaired by Dr. Roger Bonnet, as well as their fellow students, tutors, and lecturers.

Dr. Bonnet was very impressed by the quality of the space mission designs the students presented: 'The jury was very impressed and had the feeling that a new scientific community had risen above the horizon - a community that will increase the number of space users and that will benefit from the high potential of applications in this new field, both in industry and in science. Once again the Alpbach Summer School has created a miracle - all of the teams have made a strong impression on the jury because of their ability to get acquainted with a topic in just a few days.

Internationl Day of Friendship

The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. The resolution (A/RES/65/275) places particular emphasis on involving young people, as future leaders, in community activities that include different cultures and promote international understanding and respect for diversity. The Day is also intended to support the goals and objectives of the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace and the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World (2001-2010). To mark the International Day of Friendship the UN encourages governments, international organizations and civil society groups to hold events, activities and initiatives that contribute to the efforts of the international community towards promoting a dialogue among civilizations, solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation.

Official says debris found at Indian Ocean island belongs to same type of aircraft as MH370.

Air safety investigators have a “high degree of confidence” that the photo of aircraft debris washed up on a remote Indian Ocean island is from a wing component unique to the Boeing 777, a U.S. official told the Associated Press late Wednesday. The disclosure fueled speculation it could be from Malaysian Air Flight MH370, which vanished in March 2014.
